UPHILL DAILY DEVOTION
Day 57 – February 26, 2026
Topic: Releasing Past Pain to God
Introduction
Emotional pain can stay buried in the heart long after the moment has passed. Hurtful words, broken trust, rejection, and disappointment can create wounds that affect how we think, feel, and relate to others. God never intended for us to carry these burdens alone. He invites us to release our pain to Him so He can bring healing, peace, and restoration. Releasing pain is not pretending it never happened—it is choosing to place it in God’s hands and allowing Him to heal what we cannot fix on our own.
Main Passage
“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
Four Vital Points
1. God Invites Us to Bring Our Pain to Him
We do not have to hide our hurt. God welcomes our honesty and our tears.
“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.” Psalm 34:18
2. God Heals What We Surrender
Healing begins when we stop carrying the weight alone and give it to God.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
3. God Gives Rest to the Weary
When we release our pain, God replaces heaviness with rest and peace.
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
4. God Renews Our Minds and Restores Our Hope
Letting go of past pain allows God to renew our thinking and restore our joy.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I release every hurt, disappointment, and painful memory into Your hands. Heal the wounds in my heart and restore my peace. Remove every weight I have carried for too long and fill me with Your comfort and strength. Renew my mind and help me walk in freedom and wholeness. Amen.
Declaration
Today I release my pain to God. My heart is healing, my mind is renewing, and God’s peace is restoring every broken place within me.
