UPHILL DAILY DEVOTION
Day 26 – January 26, 2026
Topic: Practicing Patience and Calmness
Introduction
Life often moves faster than our hearts can handle. Delays, frustrations and unexpected challenges can easily steal our peace. But God calls us to live with patience and calmness. Patience is not a weakness. It is strength under control. Calmness is not denial. It is confidence in God’s presence. When we slow down breathe and trust God we experience His peace even in stressful moments. Practicing patience and calmness helps us respond with wisdom instead of reacting with emotion.
Main Passage
“Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” Psalm 37:7 NKJV
Four Vital Points
1. Patience Comes From Trusting God’s Timing
When we believe God is working, we do not rush or panic. Trust produces patience.
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.” Isaiah 40:31
2. Calmness Comes From God’s Presence
God’s presence quiets our hearts and settles our minds. When we focus on Him, peace replaces anxiety.
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
3. Patience Helps Us Respond Wisely
Quick reactions often lead to regret. Patience gives us space to think, pray and choose the right response.
“He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty.” Proverbs 16:32
4. God Strengthens Us When We Feel Overwhelmed
We do not practice patience and calmness by our own strength. God empowers us to stay steady and peaceful.
“My grace is sufficient for you for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
