UPHILL DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: Seeking God First in All Things
Introduction
Every day brings choices, pressures, and responsibilities. It’s easy to wake up and immediately think about what needs to be done. But God invites us to start differently; to begin with Him. Seeking God first doesn’t mean ignoring life; it means letting Jesus lead us through it. When Christ becomes our first thought, our first priority, and our first source of strength, everything else begins to fall into place. Life becomes lighter because we are no longer carrying it alone.
Main Passage
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
Four Vital Points
1. Jesus Is the Center of the Kingdom
Seeking the Kingdom means seeking the King – Jesus. He is not an optional part of life; He is life. When we put Christ first, we build our day on a solid foundation that cannot be shaken.
2. Seeking God First Brings Order to Our Lives
When Jesus is first, everything else finds its proper place. Decisions become clearer, priorities become healthier, and our hearts become calmer. Christ brings order where life brings confusion.
3. Seeking God First Strengthens Our Trust
Worry grows when we focus on our problems. Faith grows when we focus on Jesus. When we seek Him first, we learn to trust His care. He knows our needs before we speak them, and He is faithful to provide.
4. Seeking God First Releases God’s Provision
The promise is simple: when we put God first, He takes care of the rest. Jesus becomes our provider, our helper, and our source. We don’t chase blessings; blessings follow us when we chase Him.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me to seek You above everything else. Teach me to put You first in my thoughts, my decisions, and my desires. Remove every distraction that pulls my heart away from You. Lead me by Your Spirit and fill me with Your peace. I trust that as I seek You, You will take care of every need in my life. Amen.
Declaration
Today, I put Jesus first.
My mind is focused, my heart is steady, and my steps are guided.
Christ is my priority, my strength, and my source.
As I seek God first, everything I need is added to me.
