UPHILL DAILY DEVOTION
Day 3 — January 3, 2026
Topic: Daily Devotion and Meditation on Scripture
Introduction
Spending time with God every day is how we grow in our relationship with Jesus. Just as our bodies need food, our spirits need the Word of God. When we meditate on Scripture, we are not just reading; we are feeding on Christ, the Living Word. His voice brings peace, direction, strength, and transformation. A day that begins with Jesus is a day built on a strong foundation.
Main Passage
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105 (NKJV)
Four Vital Points
1. Scripture Reveals Christ
The Bible points us to Jesus from beginning to end. When we meditate on Scripture, we come to know Him more deeply.
“And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.” — Luke 24:27
2. Scripture Guides Our Daily Steps
God’s Word gives direction, wisdom, and clarity for everyday life.
“The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” — Psalm 119:130
3. Scripture Strengthens Our Inner Man
Meditating on the Word builds spiritual strength and renews our minds.
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” — Matthew 4:4
4. Scripture Transforms Our Thinking
What we meditate on shapes who we become. God’s Word renews our minds and aligns our thoughts with Christ.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your Word that gives life, light, and direction. Teach me to love Scripture and to meditate on it daily. Open my eyes to see You in every verse. Let Your Word guide my steps, strengthen my heart, and transform my mind. Help me grow in my relationship with You every day. Amen.
Declaration
